Bei einer diesjährigen vom “Factum”-Magazin durchgeführte Umfrage wurden 1100 Schweizer beiden Geschlechts zwischen 15 und 74 Jahren die folgenden Fragen gestellt.
Was sollte im Biologieunterricht in öffentlichen Schulen in Bezug auf den Ursprung des Lebens unterrichtet werden?
Hier ist das Resultat:
a) Ausschliesslich Evolution 215 (19,6%)
b) Ausschliesslich Schöpfung 53 (4,8%)
c) Beides gleichwertig abgedeckt 831 (75,6%).
Demnach sind vier von fünf Schweizer einverstanden, dass die biblische Schöpfungslehre irgendwie im Biologieunterricht vertreten sein soll.
Die meisten dieser 80% Schweizer sind ansonsten ziemlich still über dieses Thema. Es ist doch eine Tatsache, dass die Evolutionslehre und damit das Alter der Erde mit 4.6 Milliarden Jahren in öffentlichen Schulen gelehrt wird, seit ich in der Primarschule war.
Die Wahlen sind gelaufen. Nur einer von 200 Nationalräten, Christian Waber, EDU, eignet sich, einen entsprechenden Vorstoss in Richtung Schöpfungslehre im Biologieunterricht auf eidgenössischer Ebene zu unternehmen. Wer macht den ersten Schritt?

In a recent survey held by the Swiss Christian <a href=”http://www.schwengeler.ch/wFactum_de/natur/Schoepfung_Evolution/2007_04_27_Lehrer_bezweifeln_Evolution.php” magazine, 1100 Swiss of both genders between the ages of 15 and 74 years were asked the following question.
What should be tought in Biology classes in [public] schools with regard to the origin of life?
Here is the result:
a) Evolution only 215 (19,6%)
b) Creation only 53 (4,8%)
c) Both equally covered 831 (75,6%).
Hence four out of five Swiss favor the idea of having the biblical teachings of creation somehow represented in Biology classes.
This should not come as a suprise in a country with a preamble to the Federal Constitution reading “In the name of God the Amighty”. Well, it comes as a surprise to me since most of these 80% Swiss are otherwise pretty silent about their opinion in this respect. Fact is that evolution and the age of the earth being 4.6 Billion years has been taught in Swiss public schools ever since I was a grade school student. I am encouraged anew to vote for an MP this coming October who favors this idea.
